Caldaro Christmas Market

When the most contemplative period of the year is approaching, Caldaro starts preparing a particular event far away from the big Christmas Markets. The idyllic Caldaro Christmas Market invites to a pleasant stroll between the wooden stands. Here, right at the Piazza del Mercato (Market Square) in Caldaro village (Kaltern Dorf) this feast for all the senses makes children's eyes shine and fills the air with the aromas of cinnamon and myrrh.

Traditions and local customs are in the centre of attention. Besides handicrafts and original gift ideas, presented in the beautiful new wooden huts, the Caldaro Christmas Market offers also an interesting entertainment programme for young and old alike, including Christmas carols, concerts, carriage rides and exhibitions, St. Nicholas and the traditional Krampus parade. In an inner courtyard, the fairytale forest and reading sessions are waiting, while the majestic Christmas tree on the square shines brightly with its festive decoration. Mulled wine and hot apple juice with spices warm you up from inside.

The scent of gingerbread fills the air, Christmas carols ring out, lights shine brightly and, together with the many decorated Christmas trees throughout the village, the festive atmosphere is perfect.
