Christmas Markets in South Tyrol

The 5 Original South Tyrolean Christmas Markets, as well as the smaller idyllic ones, invite to a visit and a stroll

Christmas Markets in South Tyrol... that includes a sea of lights, Christmas carols, the festive tone, traditional delicacies and some very original gift ideas. Also a hot mulled wine must not be missed - it warms from the inside, whereas outside temperatures drop to wintry conditions.

South Tyrol offers - besides the enchanting Caldaro Christmas Market - also five big events, which have united to form the "5 Original South Tyrolean Christmas Markets": These include the historical Bolzano Christmas Market in the Piazza Walther square, known as the oldest and most traditional one of Italy, and the one of Vipiteno, taking place near the illuminated Tower of the Twelve, as well as the Christmas Markets of Brunico, Chiusa and Bressanone, situated at the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) in the centre of the episcopal town. The unique charm of the Alpine Christmas Markets enthrals young and old and increases the anticipation for Christmas.

Also the quieter and smaller rural Christmas Markets are a fundamental part of the South Tyrolean Advent period. Among them there are the "Rittner Christbahnl" at the train stations of the historical Renon Railway as well as the Christmas Markets under the medieval arcades of Egna.
