Termeno

Termeno on the Wine Road with its three localities is known as wine village and as the hometown of the famous Gewurztraminer

Only 5 km south of Lake Caldaro there is the sunny wine village of Termeno (Tramin, in German), which stretches between an altitude of 276 to 450 m a.s.l. It includes the three component localities of Sella, Ronchi and Termeno village - the municipal area, however, reaches up to the 2,116 m high Mt. Roen, the highest peak of the Mendola Ridge on the border to the Trentino.

With its 18.61 sq km, Termeno covers only a third of the surface of Caldaro, but boasts half of its inhabitants, that’s to say approx. 3,400. The charming surroundings are characterised by gentle hills covered by vineyards. However, Termeno is above all famous for its Gewurztraminer wine, but also for the Carnival custom of the Egetmann Parade, the venerable residences in the typical Oltradige construction style and the several wine events in the course of the year.
