In the centre of Caldaro, there is the South Tyrolean Wine Museum. This museum, located in one of the most important wine growing areas in South Tyrol, provides information about the history of wine and gives an insight into winegrowers' work.
Another "sight" is the Mendola funicular railway, which is the longest and steepest of its kind throughout South Tyrol. This means of transport has been inaugurated in 1903 in S. Antonio and has been established in order to reach Passo Mendola. The difference in altitude that this funicular has to overcome is 850 m. However, the Mendola mountain can also be reached on foot.
This mountain has traditionally been a summer health resort for numerous inhabitants of Caldaro. Still today the inhabitants enjoy a hike on Mendola mountain in order to escape summer heat.
