The art galleries of Caldaro offer space for creativity.

"Gefängnis Le Carceri"
This is how the galeries in the former prison of the county court on the "Paternbühel" hill in Caldaro are called. At the end of the 20th century, the province took over the building and passed it on to the municipality of Caldaro. Afterwards it has been the place where the social support services have been placed.

In the lower part of the building there is the above mentioned gallery "Prison Le Carceri". The old rooms full of nooks and crannies have been preserved very well. Due to its special atmosphere it even offers inspiration to some artistis.

By the way: once upon a time this was the place where there was Rottenburg Castle. This castle gave the name to the piazza in front. In the 17th century the ruinous building has been replaced under Claudia de Medici's rule by the county court.

> Tuedsay to Saturday from 10 am to 12 am and 4 to 6 pm.

"Sparkassengalerie"
This gallery is located in the centre of the village above the bank. Those who are interested in arts and exhibitions by amateur artists and photographers. Contemporaneusly with special events in the village centre, for example the Caldaro Wine Days in September, there are usually also exhibitions in this gallery.
