Fishing in Lake Caldaro
Lake Caldaro is a hot tip for those who love fishing, as there are many fish species.
Lake Caldaro is a very popular lake with fishers. The fish stock is rich in species and fishing in the warmest lake for bathing in the Alps is a mere pleasure.
The contact point of Lake Caldaro is the fishing association “Fischverine Kaltern“, founded in 1958. For fishing in Lake Caldaro, you need to purchase a day ticket for 12 euros. Moreover you need to have a fishing license (about 30 euros) that is valid for at least 3 months. Day tickets and licenses are available in the tourist office of Caldaro.
There are by the way many fish species in the lake, such as pikes, carps, eels, carp breams and zander, so as you might notice, the haul could be huge. Another tip: we recommend you to rent a boat and to fish from the centre of the lake, as the shores of the lake are either private or surrounded by reeds, which makes them hard-to-reach.
In order to study the local fishing regulations, please contact the local fishing association or the tourism office, where you can also purchase the day tickets.
Please note that from December 1 to March 18, fishing in the lake is forbidden.
