The emblem of Caldaro and its likely meaning
The emblem illustrates a copper kettle. Presumably this kettle should describe the area. The Latin name for this kettle-like shape is "caldarium", which sounds very similar to Caldaro.

Archeology in Caldaro
Findings from ancient times
The oldest findings date back to Neolithic Age and can be found in the locality of Klavenz, where a stone grave had been discovered.
On the hills round Leuchtenburg and Laimburg, findings dating back to the mid-Bronze Age, 1700 to 1300 bc, were discovered.
Moreover it is presumed that the surroundings of the S. Pietro Ruin in Castelvecchio have been populated very early.
